And when he had considered [the thing], he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

Note 9 at Acts 12:12: Mark's mother, Mary, was also Barnabas' sister (Col. 4:10). That made John Mark Barnabas' nephew (see About the Author in Introduction to the Gospel of Mark, p. 21).
