And when they were at Salamis, they preached the word of God in the synagogues of the Jews: and they had also John to [their] minister.
Note 9 at Ac 13:5: Salamis was a city on the east coast of Cyprus. The Jews had synagogues there, where Barnabas and Saul preached. Salamis was located a little north of the modern-day city of Famagusta.
