Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
Note 1 at Ac 14:3: The word "therefore" means that the reason they stayed a long time speaking boldly in Iconium was because of the persecution mentioned in Ac 14:2. Instead of fleeing from persecution, Paul and Barnabas became more determined than ever to stay with the believers and speak God's Word.
