Acts 16:29
Previous Verse
Acts 16:29
Next Verse

Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,

Note 1 at Acts 16:29: The Greek word that was translated "sprang in" in this verse is "eispedao" meaning "to leap in, rush in, to burst in." This emphasizes the jailers astonishment that the prisoners could still be in their cells after all their bands were loosed by the earthquake (see notes 4 and 7 at Acts 16:25 and 27, p. ???).
