Acts 16:40
Previous Verse
Acts 16:40
Next Verse

And they went out of the prison, and entered into [the house of] Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.

Note 5 at Ac 16:40: Paul's work in Philippi was certainly fought against but very rewarding. A church was established in Philippi, and Paul later said this was the only church that invested financially in his ministry (Php 4:15). They sent money to Paul twice in Thessalonica (Php 4:16), once in Corinth (2Co 11:9), and even many years later when Paul was in prison in Rome (Php 4:14 and 18). Lasting relationships must have been established, for when Paul was in prison in Rome, he wrote, "For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ" (Php 1:8).
