Acts 21:8
Previous Verse
Acts 21:8
Next Verse

And the next [day] we that were of Paul's company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was [one] of the seven; and abode with him.

Note 1 at Ac 21:8: This was Paul's third visit to Caesarea (see note 2 at Ac 8:40) recorded in Scripture (1st, Ac 9:30; and 2nd, Ac 18:22). Paul was later imprisoned in Caesarea for over two years (Ac 24:27).

The church at Caesarea was begun by the ministry of Peter as he saw Cornelius (see note 1 at Ac 10:1) and his relatives born again (Ac 10). Philip the evangelist, who was one of the seven original deacons of the Jerusalem church, also lived in Caesarea and provided Paul with a place to stay.
