Acts 26:24
Next Verse

And as he thus spake for himself, Festus said with a loud voice, Paul, thou art beside thyself; much learning doth make thee mad.

Note 4 at Ac 26:24: Festus had heard Paul speak before (Ac 25:7-8), but what he heard was just the Jews' accusations concerning Paul breaking their customs. This was the first time Festus had really heard Paul speak of his faith in a risen Christ. He was overwhelmed. He thought Paul had gone crazy. Festus certainly thought it was incredible that anyone could be raised from the dead (Ac 26:8).
