Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished [them],

Note 14 at Ac 27:9: The fast being referred to is the Day of Atonement. It was on the tenth day of the seventh month, or about October 1. After this time, the Mediterranean became dangerous to navigate.
