And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.

Note 2 at Acts 28:21: The Jews of Jerusalem had pursued the prosecution of Paul for over two years (see note 8 at Acts 24:27), even to other cities. It is interesting that they had not sent letters to the leaders of the Jewish community in Rome or their own envoy to pursue it further.
