Note 1 at Gal. 1:11: The phrase, "But I certify you brethren" means "to make known, i.e. to make it perfectly clear." Paul is elaborating on the point he made in the previous verse-that the gospel was given to him through supernatural revelation, not human teaching (see note 12 at Gal. 1:10, above).
