For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught [it], but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Note 2 at Gal. 1:12: Paul did not receive his gospel from any human source, but it was revealed to him by Jesus Christ. The Greek meaning of "revelation" in this verse carries the idea of "taking off a cover, i.e. an unveiling or disclosure" of Jesus Christ. It wasn't that Paul had no human knowledge of the historical facts that Jesus had died prior to his Damascus road experience (Acts 9:3-19). But now he had a spiritual understanding of the historical facts that revealed that salvation was by faith in Jesus alone.
