Galatians 4:7
Previous Verse
Galatians 4:7
Next Verse

Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

Note 10 at Gal. 4:7: What would your reaction be if you were told you were an heir to the richest man in the world, or the most powerful, or the most popular person in the world? Whatever that reaction would be, it would be positive. You would have hope, joy, peace, and many more reactions.

Being an heir of God is infinitely greater than being an heir to the greatest man alive today. If we aren't experiencing positive emotions in knowing we're an heir of God, it is because we aren't fully understanding or appreciating our inheritance, not because the inheritance is unworthy.

It would have been wonderful if God had just redeemed us from His wrath so that we would not have to spend eternity in hell. But He did much, much more than that. He actually made us His sons and granted us an inheritance. That's supernatural! Only God could embrace a rebellious world and elevate them to sonship (1 Jn. 3:1-2).
