Galatians 4:23
Previous Verse
Galatians 4:23
Next Verse

But he [who was] of the bondwoman was born after the flesh; but he of the freewoman [was] by promise.

Note 4 at Gal. 4:23: Abraham's son, born of his slave-wife, was conceived and born according to the natural process. Abraham's son born through Sarah was a work of God's Spirit, conceived when Abraham and Sarah were incapable of having children. Isaac was a result of God's "promise" given to Abraham (Gen. 15).
