Galatians 4:25
Previous Verse
Galatians 4:25
Next Verse

For this Agar is mount Sinai in Arabia, and answereth to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children.

Note 5 at Gal. 4:25: Hagar represents Mount Sinai (where Moses received the law) and the present city of Jerusalem, which was enslaved to Rome as well as to the law. Hagar's children being slaves corresponds to the Jews' bondage of being under the law, or as the Living Bible states, "The center of that system of trying to please God by trying to obey the commandments."
