Note 10 at Gal. 4:30: Paul is now taking the Galatians back to the scriptures. He is speaking from Genesis 21:9-14 (see O.T. Scripture cited in v. 30, this page). The point was: just as Hagar and Ishmael will not have any part in the inheritance of Isaac, so those of the covenant of law with its legalism will not inherit the promise of justification which comes by faith.
