And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.
Note 3 at Joh 2:3: Mary's statement to Jesus, "They have no wine," was more than an explanation of the situation. It is evident by Jesus' reaction and Mary's next statement in Joh 2:5 that Mary was asking Jesus to use His power to correct the situation.
