John 2:5
Previous Verse
John 2:5
Next Verse

His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do [it].

Note 5 at Jn. 2:5: Mary's charge to the servants shows her complete faith in Jesus to do as she asked despite His mild rebuke. This quality of humbleness along with perseverance was also present in the Syrophenician woman in Mark 7:24-30 who Jesus said had great faith (Mt. 15:28). Humility is a prerequisite for faith (see note 22 at Jn. 5:44, p. 100; see note 1 at Lk. 9:46, p. 215).
