John 2:15
Next Verse

And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

Note 2 at Jn. 2:15: This cleansing of the temple recorded by John must be different from the cleansing of the temple recorded in Matthew 21:12-17; Mark 11:15-19; and Luke 19:45-48. John's account takes place at the very beginning of Jesus' ministry, while the other gospel writers record a cleansing that took place exactly three years later during the last week of Jesus' ministry before His crucifixion (refer to chronological chart pp. iii and viii). Even Jesus had to repeat a lesson because of the hardness of people's hearts.
