John 3:17
Previous Verse
John 3:17
Next Verse

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Note 10 at Jn. 3:17: Jesus' first advent was not for the purpose of condemning mankind (Mt. 18:11; Lk. 9:56; Jn. 5:45; 8:15; 12:47; 1 Jn. 4:14). Throughout the church age, Jesus is acting as an intercessor for His saints (Isa. 59:16; Heb. 7:25; 1 Jn. 2:1). However, at His second coming, He will sit as judge of all mankind (Jn. 5:22, 27; Acts 17:31 with Rev. 20:12). Notice Psalm 2:5 in light of these scriptures.
