John 3:17
Previous Verse
John 3:17
Next Verse

For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Note 10 at Joh 3:17: Jesus' first advent was not for the purpose of condemning mankind (Mt 18:11; Lu 9:56; Joh 5:45, 8:15, 12:47; and 1Jo 4:14). Throughout the church age, Jesus is acting as an intercessor for His saints (Isa 59:16, Heb 7:25, and 1Jo 2:1). However, at His Second Coming, He will sit as judge of all mankind (Joh 5:22, 27; and Ac 17:31 with Re 20:12). Notice Ps 2:5 in light of these scriptures.
