Previous Verse
John 5:2
Next Verse

Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep [market] a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.

Note 1 at Joh 5:2: The pool of Bethesda (meaning "house of kindness" [Strong's Concordance]) was a spring-fed pool that had five porches able to accommodate a large number of people (Joh 5:3). It was located just north of the temple area near the present-day Church of St. Anne.
