John 5:9
Previous Verse
John 5:9
Next Verse

And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.

Note 5 at Jn. 5:9: This is the first instance in John but the fifth in the gospels where Jesus was accused by the Jews of breaking the Sabbath. (1) Jesus and His disciples plucked corn from the fields (Mt. 12:1-8; Mk. 2:23-28; Lk. 6:1-5). (2) Jesus healed a man in the synagogue who had a withered hand (Mt. 12:9-14; Mk. 3:1-6; Lk. 6:6-11). (3) Jesus healed the woman with the spirit of infirmity (Lk. 13:10-17). (4) Jesus healed a man with the dropsy (Lk. 14:1-5). (5) Jesus healed the impotent man at the pool of Bethesda (Jn. 5:2-15). (6) Jesus healed the man who was blind from birth (Jn. 9:1-41).
