And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in [that] place.
Note 7 at Joh 5:13: The word "convey" simply means "to carry; transport." Although Jesus did escape from the multitudes using supernatural means (Joh 7:30; 8:20, 59; and 10:39), in this instance He simply "melted into the crowd." This was probably done to avoid the applause of the crowd (Joh 2:24-25 with 6:15, see note 3 at Lu 5:14).
