John 5:13
Previous Verse
John 5:13
Next Verse

And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in [that] place.

Note 7 at Jn. 5:13: The word "convey" simply means "to remove from one place to another" or "withdraw." Although Jesus did escape from the multitudes using supernatural means (Jn. 7:30; 8:20,59; 10:39), in this instance He simply "melted into the crowd." This was probably done to avoid the applause of the crowd (Jn. 2:24-25 with Jn. 6:15; see note 3 at Lk. 5:14, p. 87).
