For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
Note 5 at Joh 5:20: Jesus is called the wisdom of God (1Co 1:24-30), and Col 2:3 says all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ. As deity, Jesus has always existed (Mic 5:2; Joh 8:58; 17:5, 24; Eph 3:9; Col 1:17; and Re 22:13), and He was the wisdom of God at creation (Ps 104:24, Pr 3:19 with 1Co 1:24, and Eph 3:9). Why then did Jesus have to increase in wisdom (Lu 2:52) and have the Father show Him what to do?
The answer is found in Php 2:6-7. Jesus was in the form of God and was equal with God, but He made Himself of no reputation and took upon Himself the form of a servant. In His spirit man, Jesus was still the wisdom of God, but His physical brain had to be educated (Joh 8:28). Although Jesus was God, He became as one of us (Heb 2:9-18, see note 1 at Lu 2:52).
Through the new birth, we have received the mind of Christ in our spirits (1Co 2:16; Col 3:10; 1Jo 2:20, and 27), and we are in the process of growing in wisdom by drawing this knowledge out of our spirits and renewing (or reprogramming) our minds.
