John 5:21
Previous Verse
John 5:21
Next Verse

For as the Father raiseth up the dead, and quickeneth [them]; even so the Son quickeneth whom he will.

Note 6 at Jn. 5:21: This is another testimony to the deity of Jesus. Men of God had raised people from the dead before (Elijah--1 Ki. 17:22; Elisha--2 Ki. 4:35), but they were only instruments that God used as we see in the New Testament (Peter--Acts 9:40; Paul--Acts 20:9-10). Jesus, Himself, had the power to raise the dead at will.
