Note 18 at Joh 5:32: Jesus mentioned the testimony of John the Baptist (Joh 5:33 and 35), His works (Joh 5:36), and His Father (Joh 5:37) to fulfill the requirement of having two or three witnesses. However, the One who He was referring to in this verse is His Father (Joh 8:18). God the Father bore witness of Jesus at His baptism through an audible voice and a visible dove (Mt 3:16-17). He later bore witness of Jesus through an audible voice twice more (Mt 17:5 and Joh 12:28), a visible cloud (Mt 17:5), many miracles (Joh 21:25), and by angels (Lu 24:4-9 and Ac 1:10-11).
