John 5:41
Next Verse

I receive not honour from men.

Note 20 at Jn. 5:41: Revelation 4:11 and many other scriptures (Examples: Mt. 2:2; 8:2; 9:18; 14:33; 15:25; 20:20; 28:9,17; Mk. 5:6; Lk. 24:52; Jn. 9:38; 20:28-29) show that we are to honor Jesus. In this same discourse, Jesus instructed all men to honor Him even as they honor the Father (v. 23). So why would Jesus say He would not receive honor from men? He is simply saying that He doesn't need any man's approval (v. 34). He was not a man-pleaser but sought the honor that came from God alone (v. 44). That's what made Him a faithful messenger (Jn. 5:30; Rev. 1:5).
