John 6:1
Previous Verse
John 6:1
Next Verse

After these things Jesus went over the sea of Galilee, which is [the sea] of Tiberias.

Note 1 at Jn. 6:1: There is a time lapse of nearly one full year between John's last account of Jesus in chapter 5 and this instance. In chapter 6, John gives some details of events that took place on one day, mentions Jesus ministering in Galilee, and then is silent again until the last six months of Jesus' earthly ministry, which is over one year away. Therefore, the Gospel of John can be outlined chronologically as follows: I - Introduction and one year of Jesus' ministry -- chapters 1-5 II - One day in Galilee -- chapter 6 III - Last six months of ministry -- chapter 7-21 (Consult the Chronological Chart on pp. iii-x)
