John 8:21
Previous Verse
John 8:21
Next Verse

Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.

Note 4 at Joh 8:21: This was the second of three times that John recorded Jesus using basically this same discourse. The first instance (Joh 7:33-36) and this second instance were used to confound the Jews when they were attacking Jesus. The third instance (Joh 14:19, 28; 16:5, and 16-30) was some of Jesus' last teaching to His disciples before His crucifixion. The disciples seemed to be as confused about what Jesus meant as the Pharisees were (Joh 16:17-18). However, Jesus explained to His disciples that He was speaking of leaving this world and returning to His Father (Joh 16:28).
