Then said Jesus again unto them, I go my way, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sins: whither I go, ye cannot come.

Note 4 at Jn. 8:21: This is the second of three times that John records Jesus using basically this same discourse. The first instance (Jn. 7:33-36) and this second instance were used to confound the Jews when they were attacking Jesus. The third instance (Jn. 14:19,28; 16:5,16-30) was some of Jesus' last teaching to His disciples before His crucifixion. The disciples seemed to be as confused about what Jesus meant as the Pharisees were (Jn. 16:17-18). However, Jesus explained to His disciples that He was speaking of leaving this world and returning to His Father (Jn. 16:28
