John 8:38
Previous Verse
John 8:38
Next Verse

I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

Note 15 at Joh 8:38: Jesus was speaking about spiritual vision here, and it is like His teaching in the Sermon on the Mount from Mt 6:22 (see note 39 at that verse). The direction in which we focus our attention (toward God or toward the devil) will determine our actions. If we observe Satan and his ways, then we will eventually act like him. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Pr 23:7). If we keep our vision stayed on God, then we will eventually be like Him. Our actions are determined by who we listen to or watch.
