John 11:2 |
Next Verse |
(It was [that] Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)
Note 3 at Joh 11:2: The instance that John was mentioning is recorded in Mt 26:6-7, Mr 14:3, and Joh 12:3. It took place in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper during a supper given for Jesus, attended by many people (Joh 12:9). The supper was given a few days after Lazarus' resurrection from the dead and is not to be confused with a similar incident recorded in Lu 7:37-50 (see note 1 at Lu 7:37).
