Note 18 at Joh 11:40: As explained in note 2 at Mr 6:5 (and the related notes mentioned there), some degree of faith must be present in those receiving a miracle or in an intercessor on their behalf. Jesus' statement to Martha here shows that her faith was part of this miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead. If she had not believed, she would not have seen the glory of God in this situation.
