And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
Note 5 at Jn. 11:52: The blessing of justification through faith was for all men of all nations, just as the Old Testament had said (Gen. 15:6; Isa. 63:16; cp. Rom. 4:23-24; Rom. 2:26- 29). Some references that indicate that non-Israelites could be or become children of God are: Matthew 8:11; John 10:16; Acts 2:39; 10:34-35; Romans 1:16; 2:28-29; (see parallel scriptures displayed in Mt.'s and Mk.'s column). Also, see note 2 at Luke 2:32, page 22.
Examples of God's salvation to non-Israelite people include: Rahab (Heb. 11:31), Ruth (Ruth 1:16), Melchizedek (Gen. 14:18), Naaman (2 Ki. 5:15), the widow at Zarephath (1 Ki. 17:7-24), the Samaritan woman (Jn. 4:9-10), Cornelius (Acts 10), the Ethiopian eunuch (Acts 8:30-37), etc.
