And not for that nation only, but that also he should gather together in one the children of God that were scattered abroad.
Note 5 at Joh 11:52: The blessing of justification through faith was for all people of all nations, just as the Old Testament had said (Ge 15:6 and Isa 63:16, compare with Ro 2:26-29 and 4:23-24). Some references indicating that non-Israelites could be or become children of God are Mt 8:11; Joh 10:16; Ac 2:39, 10:34-35; Ro 1:16, and 2:28-29 (see Isa 49:6, Ro 10:12-13, Eph 1:10, and 1Ti 2:4). Also see note 2 at Lu 2:32.
Examples of God's salvation to non-Israelite people include Melchizedek (Ge 14:18), Rahab (Heb 11:31), Ruth (Ru 1:16), the widow at Zarephath (1Ki 17:7-24), Naaman (2Ki 5:15), the Samaritan woman (Joh 4:9-10), the Ethiopian eunuch (Ac 8:30-37), Cornelius (Ac 10), et al.
