John 12:3 |
Next Verse |
Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment.
Note 2 at Jn. 12:3: Only John mentions the name of the woman who anointed Jesus. By comparing this verse with John 11:2, it can be seen that this was the same Mary whose brother Lazarus had been raised from the dead just a short time before (see note 2 at Lk. 10:39, p. 254).
