And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written,
Note 6 at Joh 12:14: This was the fulfillment of Zechariah's prophecy in Zec 9:9. Notice how specific Zechariah's prophecy was and how exactly it was fulfilled. Zechariah prophesied Jesus riding not only an ass but also a colt (unbroken), the foal of an ass. Zechariah also mentioned the people rejoicing greatly and shouting, and that certainly came to pass on this day.
