Note 3 at Jn. 12:25: Jesus had spoken this truth recorded in verse 25 on other occasions (see parallel scriptures for Jn. 12:25, this page). It has direct applications to us denying ourselves and following Jesus (see note 4 at Lk. 9:24, p. 205). However, in this instance, Jesus is applying this to Himself. Jesus was facing losing His life so that He could find it again (Mt. 16:25; Mk. 8:35). Jesus practiced what He preached.
