Note 4 at Joh 12:26: Jesus had just spoken of denying Himself through offering His life as a ransom for the world (see note 3 at Joh 12:25). Therefore, taken in context, Jesus was speaking of following His example of laying down His life for others. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (Joh 15:13).
