Previous Verse
John 14:18
Next Verse

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Note 30 at Jn. 14:18: In the previous two verses, Jesus had clearly spoken of the Holy Spirit coming and dwelling in the disciples. Now He speaks of Himself coming to the disciples in the same context. The use of Himself and the Holy Spirit interchangeably in these verses, stresses the oneness of Jesus and the Holy Spirit and the place of the Holy Spirit in the Godhead (see note 2 at Mk. 1:10, p. 35).
