Previous Verse
John 14:18
Next Verse

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

Note 30 at Joh 14:18: In Joh 14:16-17, Jesus had clearly spoken of the Holy Spirit coming and dwelling in the disciples. Here He spoke of Himself coming to the disciples in the same context. Referring to Himself and the Holy Spirit interchangeably in these verses stressed the oneness of Jesus and the Holy Spirit and the place of the Holy Spirit in the Godhead (see note 2 at Mr 1:10).
