He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Note 33 at Jn. 14:21: Once again, this verse has been misinterpreted to say that keeping God's commandments will produce a love for God, but this verse is saying just the opposite. Loving God will produce keeping His commandments (see note 24 at Jn. 14:15, p. 432).
