Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
Note 34 at Jn. 14:22: Judas asked a question and Jesus replied without the rebuke that characterized His answers to Thomas and Philip in this same discourse (see note 8 at Jn. 14:4, p. 430; see note 13 at Jn. 14:7, p. 430). This is because Judas' question was not a question of doubt as were Thomas' and Philip's, but Judas was simply seeking clarification of how this would be. Mary asked a similar question without being rebuked by the angel Gabriel (see note 3 at Lk. 1:34, p. 10). Therefore, we see that God doesn't mind us questioning Him if our motives are right.
