John 14:30
Previous Verse
John 14:30
Next Verse

Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

Note 44 at Jn. 14:30: This is in reference to Satan (see note 4 at Lk. 4:4, p. 37; see note 4 at Mt. 4:9, p. 38). Satan is also called the prince of this world in John 12:31 and Ephesians 2:2.

Note 45 at Jn. 14:30: This is a reference to the fact that there was no sin or weakness in Jesus that Satan could take advantage of. Satan had no right to kill Jesus. Jesus gave His life for us (Jn. 6:51; 10:17-18).
