These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

Note 92 at Jn. 17:1: The whole 17th chapter of John is a prayer that Jesus prayed sometime after they left the upper room and before they crossed the brook Kidron and entered the garden to pray for the last time. It is the longest recorded prayer of Jesus'.

Jesus first prayed for Himself (Jn. 17:1-5), then His disciples (Jn. 17:6-19), and then for all believers of all time (Jn. 17:20-26).
