Note 97 at Joh 17:9: Jesus was not praying for the unbelievers. This was not because He doesn't love them. He sacrificed His life for them. There is no greater love than that (Joh 15:13). He has done everything for them that He can or will do until they receive His gift of salvation. Jesus' ministry, now that He is back with the Father, is to appear in the presence of God, making intercession for us (Heb 7:25 and 9:24).
