And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year.
Note 1 at Joh 18:13: Through John's account, we can see that Jesus was brought to Annas first, and then later that same night, they took Him to Caiaphas who was the actual high priest.
