John 18:22
Next Verse

And when he had thus spoken, one of the officers which stood by struck Jesus with the palm of his hand, saying, Answerest thou the high priest so?

Note 6 at Joh 18:22: Jesus' high priesthood was infinitely higher than Caiaphas'. It was actually Caiaphas and all the Sanhedrin who were in danger of being struck by God for treating His High Priest (Jesus) the way they were.
