When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
Note 9 at Jn. 19:26: John is the only gospel writer to give us this account of Jesus' last ministry to His mother. Even in the face of His own extreme suffering, Jesus thought of His mother and honored her (Eph. 6:2) by making sure that she would be taken care of after His departure.
