And when he had said this, he breathed on [them], and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:

Note 6 at Jn. 20:22: This is the same occurrence as recorded in Luke 24:49. In Luke's record of Jesus' statement, it appears that Jesus is just giving the command to receive the Holy Ghost and that the actual coming of the Holy Ghost took place on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4).
