John 21:3
Previous Verse
John 21:3
Next Verse

Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.

Note 2 at Jn. 21:3: Many people have speculated that these seven disciples going fishing was an act of apostasy on their part. They were forsaking the call of Jesus on their lives and returning to what they had done before Jesus made them fishers of men (Mt. 4:19). However, this cannot be proven. This may have been nothing more than the disciples casually fishing as they waited for Jesus to manifest Himself as He had promised to do (Mk. 16:7).
