And whence [is] this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?

Note 3 at Lk. 1:43: The Greek word used here is "kurios" and usually refers to Jehovah God. In context, this word is used 16 other times in this chapter, and in each case it clearly refers to God. There is no doubt that Elisabeth, under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost, was referring to Jesus as Lord in the highest sense of the word. This is another witness to the divinity of Jesus (see note 1 at Jn. 1:1, p.2).
