Luke 2:11
Previous Verse
Luke 2:11
Next Verse

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Note 1 at Lk. 2:11: The scriptures make it clear that Jesus is our Savior (Lk. 2:11; Jn. 4:42; Acts 5:31; 13:23; Phil. 3:20; 2 Tim. 1:10; Ti. 1:4; 3:6; 2 Pet. 1:1,11; 2:20; 3:2,18; 1 Jn. 4:14). The scriptures also refer to God as our Savior (1 Tim. 1:1; 2:3; Ti. 1:3; 2:10; 3:4; Jude 25). The use of God and Jesus interchangeably as our Savior illustrates the fact that Jesus was God in the flesh (1 Tim. 3:16 -- see note 1 at Jn. 1:1, p. 2) and is another testimony to the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (see ref. l at Jn. 10:30, p. 281 for list of notes on deity of Christ).
