Luke 2:11
Previous Verse
Luke 2:11
Next Verse

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Note 1 at Lu 2:11: The Scriptures make it clear that Jesus is our Savior (Lu 2:11; Joh 4:42; Ac 5:31, 13:23; Php 3:20; 2Ti 1:10; Tit 1:4, 3:6; 2Pe 1:1, 11, 2:20, 3:2, 18; and 1Jo 4:14). The Scriptures also refer to God as our Savior (1Ti 1:1, 2:3; Tit 1:3, 2:10, 3:4; and Jude 25). The use of "God" and "Jesus" interchangeably as our Savior illustrates the fact that Jesus was God in the flesh (1Ti 3:16, see note 1 at Joh 1:1) and is another testimony to the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
