And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present [him] to the Lord;
Note 1 at Lk. 2:22: By looking at the laws governing a woman's purification listed in Leviticus 12:1-8, we can see that this presentation of Jesus in the temple was 32 days after Jesus was circumcised, thus making Him 40 days old.
